Wii-kend! (ouch...) Nov. 20th, 2006 @ 10:59 am
That's right, I have one. Only had to wait from 6 am on. No 12 hour sit in here.

Also, went to cbus for the OSU game to placate my fellow workers' need to get me to go places with them. That was alright, but i decided to go home after that rather than to their gambling party. They assured me that I would have no fun in Dayton that saturday, but Jesus were they wrong.

Went to some college park party, met various people including one of more significance (details when they exist).

Sunday, though, was basically me playing tennis and boxing with kimball and marty. It got really goddamn crazy and I cant wait for the other games to launch for Wii... it's just so damn fun.

Ahh... Elitism Nov. 13th, 2006 @ 01:10 pm
So at a party this weekend, this girl sees my shirt (which i m slacking on when it comes to typical going out-wear) and says that she likes GI Joe. For about half a second i believed her then i promptly put on an unamused face and said "seriously? cuz i don't need this crap right now." She replied "No, I'm serious." I said "Well... now i know." And after a brief pause, I sighed, shook my head, and walked off. Does anyone know how the girl could have gotten me to not walk off?

CL And a Party Nov. 6th, 2006 @ 02:33 pm
First off: I'm priest CL now! Woo hoo for nerddom that takes up minimal time but has good rewards. Now, if i hear a mind blast - i get to /gkick! woo hoo!

Second: I have a company christmas party in columbus in December. It allows for the bringing of a date... and provides lodging. Assuming i can get a girl to go to the party with me (god only knows what i plan to do there), it will be a whole new bag of issues when i m like "oh yeah... we re staying at a hotel... what s that? nope... one bed." I feel like i should just go all out and follow that up with some sort of ass slap or fonzie wink/point.

...Stupid work party.

Ahhh...... Nov. 1st, 2006 @ 01:25 pm
Soooo... Long overdue update.

I have a new, huge apartment... a new, huge TV... and a new, huge salary. I have also managed to fit all necessary activities into my life, moderating all of warcraft, socialization, responsibility, and even a fair dose of exercise.

For the warcraft record: I have 2 60s, Bluehair and Blondehair (priest and rogue respectively). It has also been more legitimately social than i thought it could be. Many of the people that i talk to in the game are from cbus, cinci, or dayton - not to mention one of my best friends is a UD student that plays on my server who i talk to in real life maybe 10% of the time that i talk to him in game - Here's a pic of blue:

As far as the TV goes - It's a wonder of high def. technology... and it's hanging on my wall!

The apartment is enormous. I spend 90% of my time in my room, leaving the living room and other bedroom virtually devoid of life for the majority of the time. For some reason i just like that the space is there. It makes my living situation more enjoyable and comfortable. That... or i m crazy.

I've met a huge amount of people in the past few months, and am fairly well known to those on campus who hang around with my 5th year friends and otherwise. I've also learned that graduating in an efficient 4 years was stupid, seeing as the 5th year of college seems like it would be amazing fun.

I've got all kinds of cleaning going on as well as crazy responsibility nonsense. Dog is housebroken, friendly, and active. My room and various other rooms are clean and presentable. Also, in response to that terrifying warcraft south park. I have started exercising in a manner that increases based on more warcraft playing. It's a good time, with good results.

Ah... in any case - thats where i m at. That and one of nick's neighbors, but that's a tale for another time.

I'm not sure if there's a feeling quite as great as realizing that you had not actually finished your York Peppermint Patties, but that you actually have a whole one left.

» Weekend Rundown
Friday:

Got home, hung out with neighbors, wandered the ghetto.

Met up with some people from work - Bryce and Ian - who do not go to/live near ud at all. They were apparently going into party houses and loading pockets with beer so that they could drink it outside. I lost Bryce when he randomly walked up to a girl that was talking on a cell phone, took her phone, started talking on it, then walked away with it. She was chasing him down, but nuts to leaving my beer to follow him. After that Ian and I wandered over to another party that my neighbors were at. He proceeded to hit on them while i just talked to Susan, explaining that guys that don't call are assholes.

In general, Friday was far too sober.

Saturday:

Went to see Beerfest. It was a funny movie - really just made me want to drink a ton of beer very quickly.

After that, I hung out with Susan and Amy (neighbors), played upwords, and watched that bourne movie(first one). Turns out that i ruined the upwords game by making a 3x3 block of letters that worked, so barely any other words could be played. I tend to be a jerk like that in scrabble, so why not upwords?

After that was a party at a house that i actually knew. I drank alot very very quickly. I remember that i got to bounce freshmen out of the beer room at some point, which was hilarious and fun. After that though, it is a large blur. I woke up on Nick's couch with no recollection of how i got there. I was also missing enough money to apparently buy nick and andy a pizza. The fuckers. I also found a random phone number in my phone of someone named "liz".

Saturday... was better.

All-around good news though - no dating requests that whole weekend!

Last problem averted with friendship *stereotypical after school special thumbs up and dramatic pause* - next issue.

Group of girls I was talking to complimented how i talked and said i was "charming" (again, as far as talking goes) and all that nonsense. Thing is, then they pulled some of it back cuz of apparent encroachment(is that a word?) on someone's territory. Is it wrong that I have no clue whose territory that is?

Also, I beat the shit out of the "undefeated" head of my dept. in Halo. I haven't even played halo in 3 months, let alone the FIRST one. That should get me a solid raise.

Oh, and a few months ago i proposed some process of registering to view demos of my company's software. It is apparently a huge success. I now have underlings to do my dirty work for me regarding that project. Mwahahaha.

» Amusing...
It turns out that if you dont protect even software demonstrations people can analyze your strengths and weaknesses and specifically note their superiority in those areas when competing. So i proposed designed a site for my company to request demo access for our software. The site sends emails to company members affiliated with the relevant software and lets them handle granting access manually to those parties that they consider to be appropriate.

In any case, this one guy named Joey Hacker is in charge of one product and asked me to implement the functionality of sending it to the appropriate sales people on our end when the request for access was sent.

He came up to me later, after i had finished, and told me that the new feature was working correctly "but he didnt know about the 'asdf' guy". I laughed, but apparently he thought that was some spy from a competitor trying to get access to our site. He was very proud of his screening, but i had to make him look just plain silly when telling him that he clearly ignored the first name:

Customer name: This is a Test Message Please Disregard asdf
Company: asdf
Email Address: asdf@asdf.asdf
Phone Number: 1234444456
Address: asdf
asdf asdf asdf
Country: asdf
Company: asdf
IP Address: 66.192.46.246
Product: Sitebuilder Buldoser

He said: "Well, i thought the one guy had a real number."

I asked: "...Was the number like... 1234....?"

He replied with: "Wait then... wh... oh you ass."

Everyone had a good laugh.

So far so good with the guild. I am also WAY beyond avg level for this server (17ish?).

Accomplishment of the moment: Soloing a rogue 1v1 that was 10+ lvs above me. The dumb bastard just couldnt deal with frostshock. Silly little nublet... Yup... i was the savior of hillsbrad farm. Nobody stood up to him. Several were running when I arrived, but my presence alone, for future battles with that rogue, helped them stand up for themselves.

*polishes fingernails*... *frostshocks*

stupid broke ass shaman...

Don't worry carly, you ll be crazyfuckshit awesome like me someday! *pats head*

So...

I switched servers.

I went back to the horde on a new server that has rekindled my love for the horde. I just felt all warm and fuzzy inside when my first HK was a NE male who screamed his greatly satisfying death scream that I missed enjoying so much. I have a 19 shaman after 2 days (remembers wsg honor contest) on a server that is 8 days old. I am so far above average level and I've been accepted to an END GAME GUILD of some guys that led the top guild on their main server. (They apparently left because their server is, like I expect Skullchrusher is, on the same hardware as the test server, so horrible server side lag destroys gameplay.

In any case, I ve been dominating up and down with my shaman, and why shouldn't I? It's the most broke-ass class in the game.

"What's that? Someone behind me? Totemtotemshocktotemtotemruntotemtotemshockstomphealtotemtotemrunshock. Win. /lol"

mwahaha. End game guild. hehe.

» Ni Hao, Bitch.
So many of you may not understand/care about this, but yesterday it actually affected my personal use of time and I am now angry.

See, there exists a problem with WoW where China has sweatshop-like establishments that farm items and gold to sell them in game for real money. Now, this hasnt been an issue with me aside from an occasional "You buy this 5g!" from some warlock trying to sell my hunter a wand or something. However, last night, since i am now 60, equal level to these chinese farmers, I actually had a group with one. We were running through Baron(instance for set gear) wit a group of good people and a curiously silent mage. Well it turns out the bitch was one of the farmers, and one that apparently didnt understand enough english to fully comprehend "please dont go run over there and get us all killed." I must say, it was an amusing, if not effective blow to China as a whole when we booted her from the party. Upon uninviting, she stood there for 30 of her 60 seconds before saying "Ni Hao!" This sparked a wave of my party members yelling out "NI HAO!" and bidding her farewell. She managed to eek out "inv," a combination of letters which i attributed to random luck. The final bit of amusement was when she tried to teleport to a city, but didnt quite make it, burning her hour on the hearthstone.

In any case, I hate the chinese farmers for effectively robbing me of my pants last night since the run fell apart soon after that wipe. However, i thank them for giving the players a fun new saying.

NI HAO!

That's not racism is it?

EDIT: For any who do not know Ni Hao = "Hello" or literally "You good?" which rarely fits the situations in which it is used.
